Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Relief from the scorching heatwave is imminent for the residents of Uttar Pradesh, as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the expected arrival of the Southwest Monsoon. The official entry of the rainy season into the state is predicted to occur between June 18 and June 20.
Ahead of the full-fledged monsoon, pre-monsoon activity has already begun to cool down several parts of the state. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for numerous districts, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h. Areas including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and even the capital, Lucknow, are among those expected to receive these initial showers, bringing a much-needed break from the oppressive heat.
Meteorologists are closely tracking the monsoon's progress. The system has already made its way into the neighboring state of Bihar and is steadily advancing towards eastern Uttar Pradesh. This progression is a clear indicator that the seasonal shift is underway.
The forecast comes as a welcome respite for the entire region, which has been grappling with intense heat and humidity for weeks. The arrival of the monsoon is a critical event in India, not only bringing down temperatures but also replenishing water sources and marking the beginning of the crucial agricultural season for millions of farmers.
With pre-monsoon storms now active and the main event just days away, residents across Uttar Pradesh are advised to take necessary precautions while preparing for the full onset of the rainy season.
