Meta has announced some changes to its Threads social media platform, including the ability to set feeds to default. These changes come along with some other additions made to Threads, such as limiting post replies to followers only, an enhanced video player, and the capability to set custom topics in the bio section.
Meta has now incorporated personalization features for the default feed on Threads. Previously, Threads permitted users to select topics of their choice from a custom feed, Following, or For you feeds while refreshing the home screen. However, Meta has now included the option to set a feed as default, which significantly improves the user interface of the app. Additionally, custom feeds will also be permitted to be set as default on the platform.
Meta has confirmed that Threads users will now be able to add up to ten topics of their interest into their profile's topic section. This was meant to assist users in better engaging with relevant videos. Users just need to tap on the selected topics, and all the relevant posts will be displayed. It enhances user interaction with other users on the social network with similar interests. From this week, a broader rollout of this feature is expected.
Important changes made on Meta Threads
Threads by Meta has been receiving a lot of hate for the default video player due to its lack of basic controls such as play and stop, with the progress bar practically hidden. As of now, the social media platform has added play/pause, 10-second skip forward and backward, and, most importantly, a more visible progress bar to the default video player.
Threads is finally giving users the ability to limit quotes and replies to followers only. This new form of limitation on interaction enables users to control who can engage with their posts by allowing replies and quote posts to only those users who follow them.
