In a disturbing revelation about the murder of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput which had occurred in Meerut, a cab driver has provided astonishing details regarding the former behavior of Muskaan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla. They exhibited behavior of complete nonchalance after the crime, which gives one chills.

Ajab Singh, their driver, recounted that after the Saurabh was killed, the couple undertook a trip to Himachal Pradesh which aided in their escape from the crime scene. Strangely, Muskaan and Sahil’s demeanor throughout the drive to Shimla and Manali was bizarrely calm for people as deeply involved in a murder as they were.

Both Muskaan and Sahil are 27 and Ajab observed that during the course of the trip, the couple spoke very little. Muskaan’s mother called her two times and was the only voice Muskaan heard the entire trip. Reportedly, the couple stayed in the Himachal region for 6 days after commiting the crime, before making their way to Meerut on the 17th of March.

According to Ajab, the driver, Muskaan and Sahil also celebrated Holi with excessive enthusiasm, which sharply contrasts with the horror of their crime. The driver also noted that Muskaan and Sahil had an unrestricted alcohol policy. While Muskaan resided in Shamli, she brought over cans of beer, three to be exact, while Sahil was known to routinely drink two bottles of alcohol a day.

On the day when the crime was committed, March 4 th, Muskaan and Sahil had made a reservation for a 15-day trip including Shimla and Manali. On 10 th March, they checked into a Kasol hotel where they stayed for six days checking out on the 16 th. They claimed to be husband and wife. Aman Kumar, the owner of the hotel said their conduct was strange. They spent all of their time in their room, going outside just once a day and not engaging with the hotel staff or accepting any cleaning of the room.

Whilst staying at the hotel, Muskaan sent the driver a voice note asking him to bring a cake for Sahil, who was celebrating his birthday. She instructed him to text her and not call her when the cake was ready.

The driver claimed the whole trip had cost 54,000 Rupees, and for the rest of the journey maintained that he had no idea of the criminal activity that was taking place, convinced that they were only vacationing in Manali and Shimla. However, he did notice Muskaan’s drinking after seeing her drink on the return journey to Meerut where they stopped to buy more alcohol.

To introduce Muskaan, an audio recording of her was shared on social media where she stated, “Bhaiya, I need you to fetch me a cake from somewhere. In case you get the cake, all I need you to do is text me, don’t call. When you come to our room, say, ‘my stuff is here, and I will pick it up in the morning.’ Simple as that.”

Sahil and Muskaan's seemingly carefree behavior, surfaced after a video showed them at a Holi party. A different video captured Muskaan feeding Sahil cake while celebrating his birthday in Kasol before planting a kiss on him.

The police statement notes Muskaan and Sahil's confession of killing Saurabh through stabbing on March 4. Following which, the couple claimed to have cut up his body, put it into a barrel, and filled it with concrete. As the investigation continued, the two were taken into custody on Tuesday.
