Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar addressed the resignation of Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Friday, stating that there was nothing to be alarmed about, as Reddy's resignation comes days after he became Chief Minister.

The transfer of power in Karnataka occurred following deliberations at the Congress high command which led to senior leader Siddaramaiah being ousted from power and his deputy DK Shivakumar being assigned the chief minister post.

In interaction with the reporters the new CM Shivakumar said, 'There is nothing to worry about. We are very good friends, closest friends in the cabinet, we will solve this problem together'.

CM Shivakumar further stated in Kannada that, 'Ramalinga Reddy is my colleague and a senior leader, and has told that I will not go to the village and work, I ask you to give me another minister post. I will discuss with Ramalinga Reddy and set everything right'.

Reddy resigns, unhappy with portolio allocation.

Senior Congress leader R Ramalinga Reddy has handed his resignation barely two days after the new DK Shivakumar ministry was sworn in and expressed immense dissatisfaction over his portfolio.

The leader alleged that Chief Minister Shivakumar made a 'U-turn on his promise to hand over Bengaluru Development Department' in 2023 and stated that he was guaranteed the post of minister two and half years later after Shivakumar took over the Chief Minister post.

Have been humiliated many times, I will not leave the party: Reddy

Sharing his dismay over the portfolio allocation, Reddy stated, "I have been repeatedly humiliated, I cannot bear it anymore". However, Reddy refuted all chances of quitting the party and stated that he "will continue as an MLA of Congress, I will continue as a member of the Congress". Reddy further added that he will not betray his conscience.

The veteran leader with the party for 53 years, maintained that he will continue to be a dedicated member of the Congress party despite his resignation from the ministry post. Ramalinga Reddy's resignation comes at the time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a visit to Karnataka.
