Nishikant Dubey’s comments on the Supreme Court of late are bound to attract sharp criticism, especially from the opposition. BJP’s Sarma and Congress Assam Chief Minister Himanta sought to defend with criticism by sharing media report screenshots showing Congress leaders over the years have offered scathing commentary on judiciary’s functioning. “The BJP has unfalteringly protected the separation of powers and the functional autonomy of the judiciary, which is one of the pillars of the democracy in India,” Sarma wrote on X.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has consistently upheld the independence and dignity of the judiciary as a cornerstone of India’s democracy.
