Japan’s Prime Minister announced to step down, will not contest the next election

New Delhi. Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced his resignation. He said that he will step down in September. His three-year term is ending in September. Along with this, he will also not contest the election for the party president. Japan’s government TV channel has confirmed the announcement of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s resignation.

Fumio Kishida has also refused to contest the election for the post of president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. Fumio Kishida became the Prime Minister of Japan in October 2021. He replaced Yoshihide Suga. Elections are to be held in Japan in October this year. The reason for his resignation is said to be a dispute within the party.
