New Electricity Connection: Acquiring an electricity connection in Rajasthan has been made even more convenient. There is no longer a prerequisite to go the electricity department office for a new connection. Now the electricity department employees will visit your place for the connection and do the connection. The process for applying the new connection has been simplified a bit more with the help of e-Mitra. According to Discom Chairman Aarti Dogra, the e-Mitra application has now been linked with the New Connection Management System module of the Discom.

Thus, all the steps within the particular discoms such as the preliminary inspection, generation of demand note, etc will now be performed by the NCMS module. This means that applicants who use e-Mitra will NO longer have to visit the Discoms’s offices for the connections and will be assured of getting the services in a speedyand and straightforward manner. In addition, the control of the pending connections will be done through web applications. This feature has been implemented simultaneously by Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Discom.

The shift towards a paperless system will be further enhanced

With the new system in place at the electricity department, the mounting pile of files can be controlled by creating individual manual documents for each file at the subdivision offices. This will improve the paperless system in the operations of the Rajasthan Discom and also ease the process of getting an electricity connection.

Reduction of paperwork will become reality.

The JEN Site Verification mobile application has also been integrated with NCMS for inspection of the site after the applicant applies for a new connection. This will allow the feasibility and estimate of the new connection to be created off-site. Integratinf the JEN Site Verification App with NCMS will enable off-site inspection to be more transparent as well as reduce the time spent on this activity.
