Innovate in UP, Scale for the World: Inside Yogi’s Vision for a Deep Tech Capital

Post

In a heartfelt open letter titled "Yogi’s Letter," the Chief Minister compared technology to time itself. He emphasized that in the modern era, staying updated isn't just a choice—it’s the foundation for a strong present and a golden future.

The Significance of May 11

CM Yogi reminded the state that National Technology Day isn't just a date on the calendar. It marks the anniversary of Operation Shakti (the 1998 Pokhran nuclear tests), which proved India's scientific prowess to the world under the leadership of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He also highlighted other historic milestones achieved on this day:

The successful flight of the indigenous aircraft Hans-3.

The testing of the Trishul missile.

"Innovate in UP, Scale for the World"

The Chief Minister outlined a bold vision to transform Uttar Pradesh into India’s "Deep Tech Capital." From drones and quantum computing to green hydrogen and med-tech, the state is rapidly moving away from traditional methods to embrace high-end innovation.

A major point of pride mentioned in the letter is that the world-class BrahMos missile is now being manufactured right here in Lucknow, a symbol of the state's growing role in national defense and self-reliance.

Inspiration from the Stars

The letter also touched upon the achievements of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, a son of Uttar Pradesh. Recently awarded the Ashoka Chakra for his historic 2025 mission to the International Space Station (ISS), Shukla serves as a living example of what technology and determination can achieve. CM Yogi urged the youth to see such milestones as a "miracle of technology" and a call to action.

A Mission for the Youth

The core of the letter was a direct appeal to the youth to move technology from the laboratory to the "fields and barns." By adopting Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and digital services, the government has already made life easier for millions. Now, the CM expects the next generation to take the lead.

He concluded by stating that embracing innovation is the truest tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s legacy—building a self-reliant India where every citizen can move forward with confidence.
