In Tonk district of Rajasthan, night Chaupals, organized to bring the administration into the villages and address public problems on the spot, are becoming a platform for relief. District Collector Tina Dabi listened to the villagers' problems at a night Chaupal held in Kakor Gram Panchayat and directed the concerned officials to take immediate action.

Collector Tina Dabi stated that a large number of villagers attended this night meeting, organized under the guidance of the local MLA, and received approximately 90 complaints. The most common complaint was the drinking water crisis. According to reports, villagers cited irregular water supply in many areas, malfunctioning hand pumps, dry pipelines, and the increasing water shortage during the summer season as major issues.

Villagers also complained about encroachment

In addition, a large number of complaints regarding encroachment were also reported. Villagers complained about illegal encroachments on government land, roads, and public spaces, demanding action from the administration. The Collector issued necessary instructions to officials from the relevant departments on the spot and ordered immediate investigations into several cases.

It is reported that during the night meeting, villagers also raised issues related to electricity, roads, pensions, rations, social security schemes, and revenue matters. Administrative officials resolved many complaints on the spot, while assurances were given for timely action on the remaining matters.

The night Chaupal lasted for about 4 hours.

The Collector stated that the purpose of the night Chaupal was to go to villages and listen to people's problems directly and resolve them quickly. He explained that the Chaupal lasted for approximately three to four hours, and the villagers' problems were heard like a marathon meeting.

The villagers praised this initiative of the administration, saying that for the first time, officials are visiting the village at night to listen to their problems. This is giving people the opportunity to directly convey their concerns to the administration. The administration says that such night Chaupals will continue to be organized in various villages of the district in the future.
