Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, recently ventured into the world of cinema with his role in Nadaniyaan. Outside of feature films, Ibrahim is in the spotlight because of his illness in childhood.

Ibrahim discussed how he dealt with extremes of jaundice right after he was born. This condition impacted his hearing and speech for years. While it has taken a considerable amount of time, he has managed to overcome a lot in life.

Childhood Jaundice Hurt Ibrahim's Ability to Speak and Hear

Ibrahim shared that the level of jaundice he suffered was extreme, having quite an impact on his brain, speech and hearing abilities. His family went on to send him to a boarding school in England at the age of 14, which I imagine, having to be away from home while managing his health must have been rather tough.

While he has some remaining hurdles in terms of fluent speech, work towards recovery has enabled him to take active strides towards achieving his dreams of becoming an actor.

Facts about Jaundice: Reasons and Its Implications

An increase in the quantity of bilirubin, a pigmented substance formed after the red blood cells have been broken down is known as jaundice. Usually, the liver filters out bilirubin but any sort of disruption can lead to accumulation.

In young children, jaundice tends to be benign, but attenuated cases may resolve without intervention. However, severe or untreated jaundice may lead to dangerous outcomes such as sepsis, or even liver failure.
