HBO has excited fans everywhere when they confirmed the development of a Harry Potter series on TV. This comes with the announcement of a new set of characters taking on famously loved roles for which the first cast announcement alone has caused worldwide. What has surprised and glued people the most? Now we see the acclaimed actor John Lithgow, now playing the role of Albus Dumbledore.  

John Lithgow Cast as Dumbledore  

Head of Hogwarts will be played by John Lithgow, famously known from 3rd Rock from the Sun and The Crown.  

Not likely to do something else after this, Lithgow did declare that this could be the turning milestone of his last stint, “This role"s a massive commitment, and I suppose this is the capstone on the latter part of the life."  

After the rotten Harris and Richard, now its your turn to try and ruin Dumbledore dearly brought to life by Michael’s Gambon in the movies.  

Meet the New Faces of Hogwarts

Nick Frost’s casting as Rubeus Hagrid won the favoritism of million as he is expected to become a rather jolly and comical half-giant.  

Jim McTeer has some rather considerable alteration as she takes over the part of the Transfiguration professor and her successor, Minerva McGonagall.  

Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape will play the enigmatic Potions Master which is to be provided with a whole new characterisation hidden beneath the layers.

Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch – bringing a different spin to Hogwarts’ caretaker.

Each character has an actor with a matching tone and personality to give life into the magical world.

Casting Call for the Trio and More Rumors

HBO has announced an open casting call for the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

More than thirty thousand candidates have submitted applications showcasing great interest in the reboot.

There are some unconfirmed rumors that Cillian Murphy is set to play Lord Voldemort, although no official statement has been made.

What to Expect from The Series

The filming is scheduled for this summer.

The series is going to provide a more step-by-step and faithful adaptation to the books written by JK Rowling.

Rowling is going to be an executive producer for the series to keep the flow, direction, and creativity aligned with the original work.
