In Haryana, officials will no longer have to go to court; testimony will be taken through video conferencing.
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Senior officials in Haryana will no longer have to go to court to testify in various cases. Officials will record their statements via video conferencing. A pilot project has begun in Karnal district, and if successful, the new system will be implemented across the state in a phased manner.
Under the new system, 100% of testimony will be conducted via video conferencing. A video conferencing platform called Nyay Shruti is being developed in Karnal. Relevant officials will be able to testify via video conferencing in the district court simply by sending an email.
A draft has been prepared and sent to the Registrar General of the High Court. Testimony through video conferencing will speed up court hearings. Government officials will save time and departmental work will not be affected.
Currently, 70 percent of summons in the state are issued electronically, with the goal of making them 100 percent digital soon. To strengthen the e-evidence system, digital recording of evidence, time stamping (the process of recording the exact time and date of a digital event, document, or transaction), and secure storage will be ensured.
