The residents of Sector-93 in Cyber City Gurugram are in shock after a tragic event transpired on Sunday night. A drunk husband murdered his wife by beating her repeatedly with a rolling pin simply because the meal served was not to his liking. Neighbours discovered the crime Monday morning and immediately alerted the authorities. Police quickly arrived on the scene, recovered the blood-soaked body, and apprehend the accused husband while still red-handed. The neighbourhood remains stunned and the couple's young children are in an inconsolable state.
The family hailed from Muzaffarpur
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Meena Devi, while the perpetrator is her husband, Sahib Sahni. This poverty-stricken family, originally from Chainpur-Meenapur village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, had relocated to Gurugram to work as labourers at a construction site under a contractor. They were currently residing in a slum near the upcoming Sapphire Mall building in Sector 93. Police state that Sahib Sahni suffered from an acute alcohol addiction. On Sunday night, approximately at 12:00 AM, he returned to their slum in a drunken stupor and sat down to have dinner. Upon finding the meal to be unappetizing, an altercation ensued with his wife, Meena Devi. The argument escalated quickly and he bludgeoned her to death with a rolling pin.
Six children rendered motherless
This heinous act has shattered a family, leaving their six children motherless. The children consist of three daughters and three sons, ranging from 15 years to just 3 years old. The eldest son, often away from home to help with household finances, is not as distraught as the youngest, who is unaware that his mother is gone forever. Police have sent the body to the civil hospital for post-mortem examination and have launched an in-depth investigation. They are gathering evidence to ensure a conviction and appropriate punishment for the accused husband.
