Google has officially announced the expansion of its Gemini Canvas tool—originally launched for web users—to mobile app users. CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed the update via a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that users can now code and create directly within the Gemini App using the Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model.

The feature, which was introduced last month on desktop, allows users to write, refine, and preview projects in real-time within a dedicated interactive space.

What Is Gemini Canvas?

Canvas is an AI-powered workspace integrated within Google’s Gemini platform. It’s designed for:

Rapid content iteration

Interactive coding with live previews

Real-time feedback and design visualization

With Gemini 2.5 Pro, users can now generate and test HTML, JavaScript, and other web app prototypes, viewing the immediate output within the same interface.

Key Features of Gemini 2.5 Canvas

Real-time Coding Assistance: Code snippets, previews, and suggestions appear as you type.

Content Customization: Adjust the tone, length, and formatting of written or coded content.

Streamlined Workflow: No need to switch between editors or tools; everything is housed within Gemini.

Export Functionality: Users can easily export projects to Google Docs for sharing and collaboration.

Mobile App Integration: A Game Changer for Developers

With Canvas now live on the Gemini App, users can work on the go. The update benefits not just content creators but also front-end developers, students, and tech enthusiasts looking for a portable coding environment.
