Suspense crime, Digital Desk : England's white-ball team completed a dominant 3-0 series whitewash over the West Indies, securing a comfortable seven-wicket victory in a rain-shortened final One-Day International (ODI) in Barbados. Despite the comprehensive series loss, West Indies captain Shai Hope was recognized for his outstanding individual performance and named the Player of the Series.
After rain reduced the match to 40 overs per side, England's bowlers put on a clinical display to restrict the West Indies to a modest total of 206 for 9. Matthew Potts was the chief destroyer, claiming four crucial wickets, while Gus Atkinson provided excellent support with three of his own. For the home side, Keacy Carty was the standout batsman, anchoring the innings with a patient half-century (50), while Alick Athanaze contributed a solid 45.
Facing a revised target of 188 from 34 overs due to the DLS method, England’s chase was masterfully guided by an unbeaten 133-run partnership between Will Jacks and captain Jos Buttler. Jacks played a blistering innings, smashing 86 not out to earn the Player of the Match award. Buttler anchored the other end with a steady, unbeaten 58, ensuring England cruised to their target with 37 balls to spare.
The victory capped a superb comeback for England, who had lost the preceding T20I series. However, the lone bright spot for the West Indies was the recognition of their captain, Shai Hope, whose consistent batting throughout the three matches earned him the series' top individual honor.
