Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Travel between eastern Uttar Pradesh and the national capital is set to become dramatically faster and more efficient with the near completion of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. This crucial infrastructure project is poised to cut the grueling 15-hour-plus journey from Gorakhpur to Delhi down to a manageable nine hours, heralding a new era of connectivity for the entire Purvanchal region.
The game-changer is the 91-kilometer-long, four-lane expressway that creates a direct, high-speed corridor from Gorakhpur to the larger Purvanchal Expressway near Azamgarh. By linking into this main artery, vehicles can seamlessly continue onto the Lucknow-Agra Expressway and then the Yamuna Expressway, creating an uninterrupted signal-free route all the way to Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.
Constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), this access-controlled expressway is designed for vehicle speeds of 100-120 km/h, ensuring a swift and smooth journey. The road has been engineered with future growth in mind and is expandable to six lanes to accommodate increasing traffic volume.
Beyond sheer convenience for travelers, this expressway is a vital economic artery designed to stimulate growth across the region. By drastically improving connectivity, it will boost trade, facilitate the transport of agricultural goods, and attract industrial investment to districts like Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, and Azamgarh.
Once officially inaugurated, the Gorakhpur Link Expressway will not only transform daily commutes but will also integrate the once-remote eastern part of the state more closely with Uttar Pradesh's economic and administrative hubs like Lucknow and Agra. This project stands as a key component in the state's ambitious plan to build a comprehensive network of world-class expressways, driving development and prosperity.
