Suspense crime, Digital Desk : On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first oath on May 26, 2014, the Congress party viciously ripped into the BJP government, accusing it of marking the last decade with an “undeclared emergency.”

Kharge: “Achche Din Turned Into a Nightmare”

In an equally aggrieved post on the X platform, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Modi regime of failing all sections of the country’s 140 crore population over a decade.

“Void promises of a rosy tomorrow was cloaked as ‘Achche Din’ which has now transmogrified into grotesque suffering,” Kharge expressed in Hindi.

He claimed the government is guilty of:  

Not fulfilling their promise of providing 2 crore jobs annually.  

Disappointment in the form of farmers income not doubling as well as violent forceful protest.  

Women’s safety being undermined, along with the imposition of conditions regarding reservation and a lack of security.  

Weak Not advanced sections such as SC, ST, OBCs, and even some minorities has been left behind.  

Borderline negligent SC, ST, OBCs and even some minorities.  

Economic Criticism: Raising Over Inflation, Unemployment, and Inequality

In addition, Kharge drew fire towards the Modi regime for supposedly being economically productive with claims of:  

Severe inflation accompanied by rising unemployment rate.  

Drop in consumption.  

Failure of Make in India initiative.  

Increasing inequality.  

Additionally, he remarked that under promises of foreign policy, construction of India's image as “Vishwaguru” have not happened, as diplomatic relations have also been strained.Democracy and Institutional Autonomy Seems to Face an Unprecedented Threat

Kharge pointed out the misuse of:

The misuse of the ED, CBI, and other agencies.

The grasp of the RSS on institutions is also a direct consequence of influence.

“Every section of society is troubled today. This is what the BJP’s lotus symbol has come to represent over 11 years,” he added.

Ramesh was in charge of Congress communications and he seemed to endorse Kharge’s opinion. “Undeclared Emergency @11” for him marks May 26, 2025, the same day Modi started serving as the PM of India.

Response From The Modi Government

On the other hand, the Modi government has approached its third term from June 9, 2024, emphasizing flaghship programmes and achievements, which was the primary focus even before the elections. The BJP has mobilized teams across the country to implement their frame of reinforced development.
