Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A bizarre and chaotic scene unfolded on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, after a milk tanker overturned, spilling thousands of liters of its contents onto the road.
The accident quickly drew a massive crowd, not of concerned onlookers, but of opportunistic local residents. Word of the spill spread rapidly through the nearby area, and soon a frenzy began. Men, women, and even children swarmed the site armed with buckets, pots, cans, and any other container they could find.
Videos of the incident show a chaotic free-for-all as people rushed to scoop up the fresh milk directly from the asphalt and the damaged tanker. Dozens of people can be seen jostling for position, eager to salvage as much of the valuable commodity as possible before it went to waste.
The driver of the tanker is reported to have escaped the crash without serious injury. Police eventually arrived at the location to manage the crowd and address the traffic disruption caused by both the accident and the subsequent gathering.
This type of incident, where locals gather to collect goods from overturned commercial vehicles, is not uncommon in some parts of India, often highlighting a mix of opportunism and necessity within communities.
