Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Cricket Australia has announced a 15-member squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's next month and a three-Test tour of the West Indies. Cameron Green stands out among the returning players; he missed several recent matches because of a back injury and last played a Test in March 2024.

Also back are Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, who recently rejoined the competition after missing the Champions Trophy due to IPL 2025 commitments. However, Hazlewood is recovering from a shoulder injury and recently missed a match with Royal Challengers Bengaluru prior to the league's suspension.

Brendan Doggett Named as Reserve

Brendan Doggett, the best bowler in the Sheffield Shield final, is the only travelling reserve. The core squad remains largely unchanged from the one that beat Sri Lanka 2-0 and India 3-1 in the last season.

Chief Selector George Bailey commended the squad’s recent results:

"These series capped a consistent performance across the two-year cycle and now presents us with the incredibly exciting opportunity to defend the World Test Championship."

Team Selections and Key Inclusions

Beau Webster maintains his allrounder spot following a strong start to his test career.

Sam Konstas is back after stepping away for a short period during the Sri Lanka series to play domestic cricket.

Matthew Kuhnemann has been selected ahead of Todd Murphy and will likely be used during the Caribbean leg starting June 25.

Australia will be seeking to become the first team to defend their title and win back-to-back WTC championships, with the final set against South Africa at Lord's.
