Their comments come at a time when the film industry is abuzz with discussions around work hours, sparked by recent remarks from actress Deepika Padukone and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Kajol, known for her candidness, passionately advocated for the eight-hour shift, stating it should be a norm for everyone, but especially crucial for mothers striving to balance their professional ambitions with family responsibilities. Drawing from personal experience, she recalled her own mother, veteran actress Tanuja, working tirelessly and the inherent guilt working mothers often face. Kajol stressed the need for a supportive environment, both at home and in the workplace, to enable women to pursue their careers without undue burden. She also acknowledged the immense support she received from her mother-in-law and Ajay himself, which allowed her to continue working after becoming a mother.
Echoing his wife's sentiments, Ajay Devgn agreed that a fixed eight-hour shift is ideal.
