This strategic continuity ensures that travelers from crucial regional hubs like Chhapra, Siwan, and Sonpur gain a reliable, structured transit option to major metropolitan and commercial destinations in eastern India without facing seat-availability crunches.

Detailed Schedule and Operational Timetable

According to official notifications released by railway authorities, train number 05096 (Mau to Kolkata Special) is scheduled to run every Wednesday from July 22 through September 23, 2026. The service departs from Mau Junction at 1:20 PM, arriving at Chhapra Junction at 5:10 PM via Siwan and Ekma, before pressing forward through Dighwara, Sonpur, Hajipur, Barauni, Kiul, Jhajha, Jasidih, Asansol, and Bardhaman to reach Kolkata by 8:50 AM the following morning. On the return leg, train number 05095 (Kolkata to Mau Special) operates every Thursday from July 23 to September 24, 2026, leaving Kolkata at 1:20 PM, pulling into Chhapra Junction at 4:10 AM, and terminating at Mau Junction at 8:40 AM via Ekma, Siwan, Bhatni, and Salempur.

Comprehensive Coach Composition and Passenger Facilities

To accommodate diverse traveling preferences and budget categories, the extended special service is configured with a robust total of 19 coaches. Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar highlighted that the train formation includes two SLRD (Seating cum Luggage Rake with Disabled compartment), 10 general second-class coaches, five standard sleeper cars, one AC third-class coach, and one AC second-class coach.
