Bahraich Incident: Youth Beaten by Girl's Family, Rape Allegations Surface:

A young man was thrashed, beaten, tied up, and stripped by the family of a girl he allegedly planned on meeting at night in Bahraich district, UP. This incident took place in Majhwa Bankat village, falling under the Viseshwarganj area. Mubarak, the victim, suffered from active bleeding on his wrists and ankles due to the excessive force used against him during the beating.

Caught Visiting a Girl at Night

Reports suggest that Mubarak was attempting to meet the girl and was caught by her family around midnight. The family members caught him informed the rest of the family who then proceeded to strip him of his clothes, tie him with a rope, and assault him gravely, a form of violence often dubbed as “Taalibani sazaa” in the media.

Video Surfaces, FIR Filed After 15 Days

An unedited video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, approximately 15 days after the incident, subsequently acting as the trigger for the initial police complaint. New Rape Allegations Came to Light

With the video going viral, a new angle emerged. The woman in question alleged that Mubarak raped her. In her words, she was fetching water from a handpump at around 7:30 pm when the incident took place. According to her, Mubarak came into her home, locked the door, and during an ongoing power outage, raped her. She added that her cries did bring some of her neighbors to her aid.

Also, the woman’s spouse marked Mubarak as a rapist, claiming that they had gone to the local police station only to be disregarded, and even threatened with scandal. He explained that the culprit was brought to the police by some people from the village, but no actions were taken then.
