Bank Holidays in August 2025: August is just 3 days away. Hence, let us check the bank holiday list published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). During the month of August, the banks will be closed for 15 days including the festival holidays and weekly holidays in many states. Apart from Independence Day, other holidays include Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmashtami. In addition to the fortnightly and weekly holidays, many other state specific holidays are as well.
In the fortnightly rhythm of the month, all public and private banks in India observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays. As a matter of fact, each week has one Sunday as well. These holidays do not come in a vaccum, as they are complemented with local public holidays all across the states. So, it is advisable to check with the nearest branch of the bank well in advance for holidays and local leave observances so that you do not miss the opportunity to complete a lot of banking work due to time constraints.
