Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma penned a heartfelt tribute on Instagram after her husband, actor cricketer Virat Kohli, announced his retirement from playing Test cricket. “It’s amazing how one human being can create such a strong impact on so many people’s lives,” she said in the post. Anushka had added a heartwarming message calling Kohli “A Wonderful Father” a few moments before the tribute was shared. “What you have done and what you are doing is truly inspiring and I just wanted to take this moment to pay you that tribute.”

The stunning news sent shudders through the cricket community on Monday and shattered millions of hearts across the globe. Anushka's post became an instant hit as it was accompanied with amazing video summation. As always, there was no shortage of praise for set videos which display astonishing events.

A heartwarming photo of Anushka and Virat together surfaced during a Test match, in which Virat was sporting his cricket jersey whilst Anushka donned a lovely white dress. Virat is smiling at Anushka with great warmth, his hand rested on her shoulder as she beams back at him. Accompanying this affectionate image, Anushka expressed, “People may talk about records and achievements, but for me, I will always cherish those tears you never showed to anyone, the struggles you bore alone, and the countless, selfless love you gave to this format. I understand how much this journey had to cost you.”

Sharing how personal Test cricket was for Virat, she wrote, “After every Test series, there was a new version of you—older, softer around the edges, and just more humble.” “I felt incredibly proud and privileged watching you grow through this journey. I somehow always assumed you’d retire from international cricket, but you’ve followed your heart. And so, my love, you have earned every moment of this goodbye.”

Virat was reminded of the sacrifices and immense love he had put into “this format” and yielded his warmest smile as Anushka felt it was equally important to highlight the essence of Test cricket—grueling work that goes unnoticed, stretched over days, but so many tiny moments that become engraved in a player’s heart forever.

Kohli, one of the finest Test captains for India, witnessed a distinct change in his batting patterns over the years. Up to 2019, he had accumulated 7202 runs in 141 innings (84 matches) with an impressive average of 54.97. From 2019 to 2022, however, he was only able to achieve 2028 runs in 69 innings (39 matches) with a lower average of 30.72, alongside only three centuries.

While fans are reminiscing about his iconic Test career, Anusha’s sentiment adds a profoundly personal touch to the farewell of a cricketing giant.
