Suspense crime, Digital Desk : After a successful stint in theaters, Malayalam sports drama Alappuzha Gymkhana is now available for streaming on SonyLIV from June 5. It can be watched in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Khalid Rahman directed the film, which features Naslen in the lead role along with Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, Franco Francis, Baby Jean and Shiva Hariharan.
Plot Summary: A Boxing Journey Beyond the Ring
The story is set in Alappuzha, a small town in Kerala. The struggles of five school friends are chronicled after they finish school and find no direction. Thinking sports quota might give them a lift when other avenues for college admissions seem overwhelming, they try to explore that option.
Their forward path is boxing, and while it initially was a means to an end, it develops into a profoundly personal journey. With the guidance of a local coach and an experienced state-level boxer, the boys undergo intense training to participate in the Kerala State Amateur Boxing Championship.
Their shared struggles serve to forge friendships, reveal rivalries, and teach them the very principles of perseverance. The film illustrates how a pragmatic decision transformed into a tale of redemption, identity, and coming-of-age.
