Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar unveiled the highly-anticipated trailer of Kesari 2 in Delhi, accompanied by co-stars R Madhavan, Ananya Panday, and producers Karan Johar and Apoorva Lakhia. The event turned heads not only for the action-packed visuals but also for Akshay’s use of the phrase “F*ck you” onscreen for the first time in his career.
A Controversial Yet Contextual Use of Language
During the trailer launch, when questioned about the bold dialogue, Akshay offered a powerful perspective:
“Aapne ye cheez dekhi hai lekin woh jo word unhone use kiya tha, 'You are still a slave,' was that right? And was it not a big gaali for you?... Mere hisaab se agar unhone goli bhi maar di hoti na, toh bhi chota rehta.”
He clarified that the word "slave," used by British colonizers, was far more offensive and painful than any expletive.
Kesari 2: A Story of Resistance and Rage
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 narrates the compelling story of Barrister C Sankaran Nair, who stood against the British Empire following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is infused with anger and defiance, as Akshay described it, reflecting the brutality of colonial oppression.
The movie is set to release on April 18, 2025, and the trailer has already generated widespread buzz for its bold tone and historical context.
Kesari 3: The Saga Continues
Amid the discussions, Akshay Kumar also confirmed the third installment in the Kesari franchise, which will revolve around the legendary Sikh General Hari Singh Nalwa. This move aims to further spotlight unsung heroes from Indian history.
