A shocking incident has come to light from Khajni police station area of ​​Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. A bride ran away with cash, clothes and jewellery before taking the wedding vows in the middle of the ceremony. This incident took place during the wedding rituals on Saturday at the Shiva temple located in Bharohia village of Khajni police station area. However, no formal complaint has been lodged in this case yet.

According to the information, farmer Kamlesh Kumar (40) from Govindpur village of Sitapur district decided to marry again after the death of his first wife. For this, he trusted a mediator and gave Rs 30,000 as advance to arrange the marriage. Kamlesh along with his family reached Gorakhpur for the wedding ceremony on January 3. The bride reached the venue with her mother. 

Apart from bearing the wedding expenses, Kamlesh also gifted saris, beauty products and jewellery to the bride. As the wedding rituals began, the bride made an excuse to go to the bathroom but did not return. Kamlesh told reporters that along with the bride, her mother also disappeared, leaving Kamlesh and his family stunned.

Precious items also missing

Kamlesh said that along with the bride and her mother, his wedding valuables including cash, clothes and jewellery also went missing. Expressing grief over the fraud, Kamlesh said, "I just wanted to rebuild my family but lost everything."

Complaint not lodged

Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Jitendra Kumar, while giving information about the incident, said that no formal complaint has been received at Khajni police station so far. However, he assured that if any complaint is lodged, the police officers will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
