Real Madrid comfortably cruised past Deportivo Minera in Copa del Rey’s round of 16 with a stupendous 5-0 score line. The match took place on Monday and Deportivo Minera being a fourth-tier candidate showed no form of fine play against the Santiago-based team. Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Arda Guler managed the first-half goals while Luka Modic scored in the second half alongside Guler who scored two goals that rounded up the match. Coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to sit several of his key players in preparation for the Super Cup match in Saudi Arabia which explains Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior coming in as substitutes.

To give the Spanish side early control, it was Valverde who managed to volley the ball into the back post while Camavinga managed to double the lead within 13 minutes.

Before Guler scored his second goal, the Brazilian player managed to come close to scoring twice as he cut in from the right and deflected the ball allowing Guler to score.

After hitting the post in the early second half, Brahim Diaz assisted Luka Modric, 39 years old midfielder, on his curling effort allowing him to score.

As the Turkish playmaker had a memorable night, Fran Garcia assisted his final goal putting him in a splendid position to easily finish off the game with the goal.

Bilbao made electrons out of their feet whilst Lato and Atletico were already warming up in the locker rooms. The two football giants advanced while Foster and the boys from the lower division remained behind and crumbled under the pressure.

16 to 14 of January are the two important dates for Atletico and Barca as the fixtures are scheduled between these dates. But before that, a crucial draw will be held in Spain, specifically in Barcelona, on the 5th of January.
