The much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan is set to take place during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with India’s first game being against Bangladesh. The Indian Team, captained by Rohit Sharma, won the ODI series vs Bangladesh by 6 wickets. This puts India in favorable position for the semi-finals and increases the stakes even more for the match against Pakistan.

As for Pakistan, they lost their opener of the season against New Zealand by 60 runs. Pakistan’s chances of winning the tournament are looking bleak especially considering that their key player, Fakhar Zaman, has been injured and will not be joining the squad. Imam-ul-Haq will be replacing him.

Up until their loss in the 2017 finals, India had won every single match against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. The current form of some players is concerning in that regard. Mohammed Shami struggled in returning from injury, but managed to take five wickets in his last match. Alongside him, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya have also struggled, with Kohli’s form dipping and Pandya being inconsistent.
