Seoul:   A major plane accident has taken place at Muan International Airport in South Korea. A Jeju Airlines plane crashed while landing here. 85 people are reported dead in this accident while many are injured. It is said that while landing, the plane slipped on the runway and collided with the airport fencing. A video of this plane crash has surfaced which is heart-wrenching.

In this video, it can be clearly seen that this plane of Jeju Air is crawling on the airport. While crawling, this plane hit the airport fencing and turned into a ball of fire with an explosion. This accident was quite horrific. The entire airport premises was filled with fire and black smoke.

 The accident was caused by a fault in the landing gear

According to initial information, this accident happened due to a fault in the landing gear. There were a total of 181 people on board this plane, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members. This plane was returning from Bangkok with 181 people. 

The Muan Airport where this accident happened is about 290 km from Seoul. South Korea's National Fire Agency said that rescue teams have safely pulled out two people from the wreckage of the plane. A total of 85 people, including 46 women, have died in this accident. After the accident, 32 fire brigade vehicles and several helicopters were deployed to control the fire in the plane.

The accident occurred at 9:03 am local time. The plane was returning from Bangkok and the passengers on board included two Thai nationals. Thailand's Prime Minister Patongtarn Shinawatra expressed her deepest condolences to the families of those affected by the accident through a post on social platform X. It is one of the deadliest disasters in South Korea's aviation history.
