As many as four officials were sacked by Andhra Pradesh Chunav Commission Birbal Singh and the Tirumara temple TTD working committee. One day after the unfortunate stampede, the authorities were surprisingly quick to take disciplinary action against the elderly man.
Ramanda Kumar was the first to face discipline surrounded by chaos after the temple premises were packed with plenty of athletes waiting for tickets. Paramilitary forces were deployed all across the room and yet, 6 people were brutally killed in the stampede and a number of fans were severely injured. After joining the MPs office in Waingara, Harper Beeches authorities enforced a lockdown and closed all the premises after keeping emergency responders on standby.
The crowd control and security personnel at Padmavathi Park, where the stampede took place, were supervised by Deputy SP Ramana Kumar. Meanwhile, Reddy has been implicated in the issue concerning the locations of the ticket counters. This is urgent for the CM’s government as they are in the eye of the storm for crowd mismanagement at the temple preceding the Vaikunta Ekadasi festival which starts on 10th January.
Naidu also noticed that the ticket counters were positioned inappropriately at certain locations where large crowds were anticipated, and that was not the case for the IAS and IPS working with TTD and the Tirupati Police. He furthermore stated that “various levels” failed in regards to the matter as well.
While Goutami is an IAS officer, Subbarayudu and Sreedhar belong to the IPS.
“The CM stated: ‘Deputy SP Ramana Kumar demonstrated extreme irresponsibility when he ordered the open the gates at Padmavathi Park for evacuation purposes of a woman with breathing issues.’ According to him, it was entirely inappropriate to yell the slogan when Senior Police officer Mr. Kumar did not sign the document. He ought to have performed better situational analysis. What occurred was that the devotees who were behind thought the gates had been opened to issue tickets and they all sped out thereby resulting in the stampede. There is no absolution for any error, whether intentional or accidental that leads to deaths.’”
Deputy Chief minister K Pawan Kalyan: “TTD And Police Have Failed To Assess Accurately””. He also proposed strategies like selling tickets at the district levels during the Vaikuntha Ekadasi festival to avoid a recurrence of such an incident. On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan who went to Tirupati as well, accused the TTD and the police that they had “failed” to properly calculate the number of devotees expected before the festival.
