The Members of Parliament issued a notice which conveyed their great dismay about Sonia Gandhi's recent derogatory statements against President Droupadi Murmu who holds the office of the President of India. They requested serious disciplinary action based on these unparliamentary comments.
The words about President of India as the nation's "highest Constitutional authority" warrant the deepest concern due to this statement which appears to reduce his dignity and power.
According to the BJP MPs their letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted how such negative language about the office positions eroded both public office dignity in addition to parliamentary law boundaries.
According to the Supreme Court Sonia Gandhi did not have any parliamentary protection in making this statement because the court has stated that MP privilege abuse "cannot be digested."
The Parliamentary Ethics and Code of Conduct explicitly prohibits members from spreading defamatory statements to others which takes on unprecedented importance because it involves the President of India while inside parliamentary grounds.
Sonia Gandhi's statements identified as strong evidence of her elitist tribal bias because her understanding of tribal poverty remains inadequate.
The statement by Sonia Gandhi that President Murmu is "tired and poor" caused widespread controversy throughout India
The statements made by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi labeling President Droupadi Murmu as "poor thing and very tired" during her Parliament speech on January 31st triggered a major political controversy which the Rashtrapati Bhavan described as inappropriate and unacceptable.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress by pointing out that its aristocratic family group had disrespected President Murmu who belongs to a tribal heritage and historically the party worked against marginalized communities' social advancement.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan released a statement declaring that the disrespectful comments had damaged the honor of the top governmental position. JP Nadda of the BJP used his statement to say Sonia Gandhi's statements showed "deep disrespect" and particularly emphasized how the opposition consistently disrespects the highest constitutional office. Kiren Rijiju who serves as the Parliamentary Affairs Minister required Sonia Gandhi to provide an apology in her capacity as former Congress president.
All Indians respect President Murmu's personality along with her health condition according to the Congress but the BJP remains unable to accept Sonia Gandhi's statements about the President's health.
A trio consisting of Sonia Gandhi as Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and her relatives Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra discussed the Presidential address as President Murmu finished her traditional Budget Session parliamentary speech.
Sonia Gandhi stated to the camera that President Ram Nath Kovind looked utterly exhausted while speaking thus concluding that the situation was truly pitiful. Rahul Gandhi took the time to check with his mother whether the President had delivered a dull address during the discussion.
