
The National Center for Seismology reported that Islamabad, Pakistan experienced a 5.3-magnitude earthquake on Saturday with an epicenter located 10 kilometers deep. This earthquake occurred around 1 PM IST, when the tremors were most strongly felt.

Tremor activity was reported in Northern India.
In Jammu and Kashmir along the border, citizens explained that they felt shaking which was brief but powerful. However, there has still been no word on the property damages and injuries caused by the tremors.
No Serious Damages Recorded in Islamabad
As per local Pakistani media, there were strong tremors felt in Islamabad but injuries and severe damages seem to be absent. Reports indicate that officials are still monitoring the situation.
Slight quakes detected in the area
The area was additionally subjected to other slight earthquakes prior to the 5.3 magnitude one:
At 12:24 PM IST, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Tajikistan.
A few minutes prior to that at 11:55 AM IST, a 3.3 magnitude quake was recorded in Pakistan.
The events indicate growing geo-tectonic energy within the area's crust.
