The treacherous roads of the Himalayas have claimed more lives in a heartbreaking accident. A Himachal Roadways (HRTC) bus, carrying several passengers, met with a horrific accident in Uttarakhand, leading to multiple fatalities and leaving many others seriously injured.
The incident occurred when the bus was navigating a sharp bend. According to eyewitnesses and initial reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the road and plunge into a deep gorge. The sound of the crash echoed through the valley, alerting locals who were the first to rush to the spot for help.
Rescue Operations in Full Swing
The rescue mission faced immense challenges due to the steep terrain and difficult weather conditions common in the hilly region.
Local Support: Nearby villagers showed incredible bravery, descending into the gorge with ropes to pull survivors out before official teams arrived.
SDRF and Police: State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police teams reached the site shortly after, using specialized equipment to cut through the wreckage and rescue those trapped inside.
Medical Emergency: The injured have been rushed to the nearest government hospitals. Several passengers are reportedly in critical condition and have been referred to higher medical centers for specialized treatment.
