Xiaomi introduced its newest flagship smartphones, Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, in a global event held in Barcelona and India recently. The smartphones’ series is centered on premium grade photography, artificial intelligence, and performance. While the standard Xiaomi 15 offers a compact and high performing option, Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a Leica design aimed towards photography enthusiasts. Both devices boast Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2 with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Pricing details and availability in India will be revealed on March 11, 2025.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 15: Specifications and features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra exhibits superb craftsmanship in its use of Silver Chrome along with glass fiber and PU leather, presenting a unique finish unlike other brands. It comes with a WQHD+ 6.73 inch AMOLED screen that has a brightness peak of 3200 nits. The quad-camera setup features 50MP 1 inch Sony sensor, 70mm Leica telephoto lens, 100mm ultra-telephoto lens with 200MP sensor, and 14mm ultra-wide camera. It also supports 4K slow motion recording at 120fps, 10-bit Log video recording, and Dolby Vision 4K at 60 fps. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a 5410mAh battery, a 90W wired charging, and 80W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 15 has a crystal AMOLED display measuring 6.36 inches instead, whilst also retaining the peak brightness. This model is available in Black, White, and Green colors. The device does feature a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a Leica 60mm telephoto camera, and a 14mm ultra-wide camera. This device has the ability to record videos in 8K at 30fps along with supporting Dolby Vision 4K recording at 60fps. It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, guaranteeing decent performance. The battery capacity is 5240mAh with 90 watts charging when wired and 50 watts when charged wirelessly.

Both models come with new features like AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, and AI Image Improvement that are all powered by AI using HyperOS 2. Xiaomi’s HyperConnect option permits direct file sharing across macOS and iOS devices.
