Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : India has called for holding accountable those who fearlessly target schools and children. India stressed that the safety of children is incomplete without accountability. Ambassador Harish P., India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said, "Education is a right that must persist even in times of conflict.

This is a right whose fulfillment is one of the greatest contributions to lasting peace. India is fully committed to protecting children in armed conflict and upholding their right to learn, develop and achieve their full potential."

He made these remarks here on Wednesday during a UN Security Council open debate on "Strengthening the Prevention and Protection of Education of Children Affected by Armed Conflict: From Idealistic Commitments to Effective Implementation." Harish said that security is incomplete without accountability.

Those who fearlessly target schools and children must be held accountable. The UN Secretary-General's recent report on children and armed conflict stated that violations of children's rights during armed conflict reached alarming levels in 2025, affecting a significant number of children.
