The statement released in the summit read: "We call for an immediate and firm cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, and reiterate our support for the Lebanese government in protecting its country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including that Hezbollah will be disarmed, and the government will maintain exclusive possession of arms in the country along with international security guarantees." The report, sourced from The Guardian, confirmed US President Donald Trump's presence in the said meeting. However, in direct opposition to the decision made, Israel attacked in the Southern Lebanon today where at least four people have been confirmed dead so far. This happened when world leaders were present at the G7 Summit in France, and at a time when Prime Minister Modi was calling for a permanent solution to the conflict. The meeting between the PM Modi and US President Donald Trump also caught eyes.

Canadian PM considers deal a gamechanger
Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney also welcomed the Iran-US deal, and dubbed it as a "gamechanger" in relation to easing Middle-East tensions. While speaking at the final day of France Summit to CNN, "It's not just for this issue, it's for us as well, and that's what has happened here in the meeting... We just spoke about Ukraine from a different lens."

NATO welcomes Iran-US deal 
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed the deal signed by Iran and the USA to end the Middle-East war and said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz would be an important milestone. During a press conference, he said, "I know that many allies support this French- and UK-led effort."
