Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Jamnagar, Gujarat, and opened a Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre that is a part of the Vantara Project by Reliance Foundation.

Starting in 2021, the Vantara Project spans 3500 acres of wildlife inVantara wildlife preserve became compared by Anant Ambani, Who along with the boards of Reliance Industries and the Foundation, help fund the project.

Vantara strives to create international standards of animal management and conservation, including healthcare, hospitals, research, academics, and state of the art technology for animal care. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), as well as many other respected organizations and international universities work with them.

Here are the 10 key things to know about the initiative.

1. It has one of the largest world wildlife rescue operations with over 25000 animals and And the most renowned Conservaton and Breeding center with over 48 species.

2. It is also houses Asia’s first wildlife hospital with CT scan and MRI units.

3. It also boasts over 75 animal ambulances, and Asia's largest animal pharmacy.

4. It has the only Animal Wildlife Quarantine in the world.

5. Lastly, Vantara has both the largest citizen and leopard care center, with over 300 lazy pet leopards to love and 250 elephants.

To this day, more than 250 international rescue operations have been completed with success.

The additional state-of-the-art Vantara hospitals and clinics equipment includes CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, chemotherapy, X-rays, endoscopy, lithotripsy, laser therapy, acupuncture, robotic laser surgeries, blood bank, blood plasma separator, and Abaxis Vet Scan.

In Vantar, there are around 25,000,000 trees.

Around 3,500 people are currently employed in Vantara.

Vantara is home to world’s only central sterilisation facility which is solely focused towards wildlife conservation.

Vantara also houses selfless non profit public trusts having true dedication towards animal welfare and conservation setting benchmarks globally. Vantara is actively leading innovative conservation breeding programmes for Cheetah, slender loris, vultures, great Indian bustard and other Indian natives, to conserve endangered species.
