For over 20 years, actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a reigning queen in Bollywood. She was a model and won the Miss World competition in 1994. Aishwarya started her acting career in 1997, when she starred in the Tamil film Iruvar.

She is well-known for her roles in films such as Devdas, Dhoom 2, and Jodhaa Akbar, and in an earlier interview, Aishwarya revealed that she was served a legal notice for a kissing scene in Dhoom 2.

In 2012, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan disclosed that while filming Dhoom 2, she received a legal notice for a kiss with Hrithik Roshan.

With the notoriety Aishwarya gained after starring in Dhoom, she did receive legal notices from some people in the country who were offended by her portrayal of a powerful role, claiming that she was a role model for young girls.

She remarked, “There are actually a few, few legal notices, which some people in the country reversed and said, ‘You are a us, an idol; you are a great ‘icon’ for many girls in the country – They don’t like you for doing this so why did you do those things on screen.'”

She expressed her astonishment at how she was required to justify a short clip from a movie by saying that she was merely doing her functions as an actress.

The on-screen coupling of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with Hrithik Roshan is one of the most loved couples of Bollywood in the 2000’s. The audience was spellbound with the pair's sizzling chemistry in Dhoom 2. Afterward, Aishwarya and Hrithik came together once more in Ashutosh Gowariker's historical epic drama Jodhaa Akbar, where they played couples yet again, and once again, the spectators were not disappointed.

The last time they performed together was over a decade ago in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, but even after all this time, people still reminisce their chemistry and are hopeful for their next venture together.

Why Aishwarya Rai Does Not Accept Certain Movie Scripts

For many, Aishwarya Rai is considered one of the hottest Indian actresses and a beloved figure at the Cannes red carpet events. She has also starred in various Hollywood productions such as 'Bride & Prejudice' and 'Provoked'.

However, the actress was served a legal notice related to the rejection of some scripts that included physical interactions. She stated that she had never performed such acts on film and was not at ease with the idea.

The Hollywood industry was particularly interested in Aishwarya Rai at the same time as she was becoming a household name, “It was around the same time that the interest in the western world from Hollywood, or European cinema, English cinema, from the industry there was a lot interest in me and the possibility of me working overseas. At the same time I had already declined a couple of scripts purely on the basis of not being comfortable with the very physical scenes, and the kissing because I had never done that on screen and I just wasn't very comfortable with the idea.”

For the unversed, Aishwarya Rai’s rise to fame came alongside her playing the role of a lead actress in the pitched up film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' where she acted alongside Salman Khan. Ever since she has been a part of blockbuster like Devdas which was released in 2002, Dhoom 2 which was released in 2006 and Jodhaa Akbar which came out in 2008.

Aishwarya Rai has also toward numerous awards and nominations throughout her career confirming her status of being one of the actresses in Bollywood. For the past few years she has taken a break due to personal reasons, the last movie she starred in was the 2023 Tamil film Ponniyin Selvan: 1 and 2.

As per the latest rumors Aishwarya is set to play a role in Anurag Kashyap's directorial chess movie Gulab Jamun with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.
