Then there came such horror comedies which scared and made people laugh. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, ‘Munjya’ is a horror-comedy film starring Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh in the lead roles. The film is based on a mischievous spirit. The film begins with a boy who accidentally releases an evil spirit while doing black magic. That spirit starts harassing the women of the village in the form of a creature. Kakuda
Another horror-comedy film ‘Kakuda’ directed by Aditya Sarpotdar was released in July this year. Sonakshi Sinha, Saqib Saleem, and Riteish Deshmukh have appeared in this film. The story is based on Rathodi village. There is a village which is cursed. Due to a dwarf ghost Kakuda, two doors have to be made in every house, one of which must be open for the ghost who comes to the village at 7:15 pm. You can watch on ZEE5.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja. Shiney played the role of Siddharth Chaturvedi, an NRI whose wife Avni was kidnapped by Manjulika. You can watch it on YouTube.
Roohi
Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘Roohi’ was directed by Hardik Mehta. In the horror-comedy film, Rajkumar played the role of Bhavra Pandey and Varun Sharma played the role of Kattani Qureshi. Rajkumar realizes that Roohi is possessed by a spirit. You can watch it on Netflix.
Bhootnath
Remember when Amitabh Bachchan played the role of a ghost in ‘Bhootnath’? This 2008 film also featured Aman Siddiqui, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Juhi Chawla. Shah Rukh Khan was seen in a special cameo in this film. ‘Bhootnath’ is a remake of Oscar Wilde’s 1887 short story ‘The Canterville Ghost’.
