Rakshit Chaurasiya, accused in a recent fatal car crash in Vadodara, is scheduled to undergo jaw reconstruction surgery at SSG Hospital on Wednesday. The procedure is required due to a fracture sustained in his right jaw.

The crash occurred on March 13 in the Karelibaug area, where Chaurasiya drove a speeding car into three two-wheelers. The incident led to the death of one woman and injured seven others. Following the crash, local residents caught and assaulted him, causing facial injuries.

Medical Procedure and Jail Transfer

Currently held in Vadodara Central Jail’s semi-high security block, Chaurasiya will be moved to the hospital, which is located near the prison, for the operation. According to Dr. Hitendra Chauhan, Resident Medical Officer at SSG Hospital, the surgery involves repairing the jaw using medical tools like screws, plates, and potentially bone grafts.

Though the surgery is considered minor, the hospital team emphasized the need for post-operative care. The procedure is expected to take place Wednesday morning, but its timing depends on the police escort arrangements.

Quick Recovery Expected

Doctors anticipate a short hospital stay, with Chaurasiya likely to be discharged within a few hours. He will be placed on a soft diet and prescribed medication for recovery, with follow-up visits planned to monitor healing.

Jail and Police Coordination

Vadodara Central Jail authorities confirmed they have informed the City Police to arrange an escort by 9 a.m. on Wednesday. A senior jail officer stated that permission for the hospital visit has been granted due to the medical necessity of the procedure.
