On the occasion of the launch of Vande Bharat train services in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya has written to the Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, offering 13 significant suggestions and requests aimed at making rail travel more accessible, convenient, and efficient for the people of Prayagraj and its surrounding regions. Shri Maurya has urged the Minister to give sympathetic consideration to these proposals—which take into account the needs of rail passengers, regional connectivity, commercial activities, tourism, and the general convenience of the public—and to take necessary action in accordance with established rules.

The Deputy Chief Minister has requested that the Prayagraj–Mumbai Duronto Express be made a daily service, the Prayagraj–Ahmedabad Superfast Express be operated three days a week, a direct train service be introduced from Prayagraj to Goa (via Pune and Miraj), and the Prayagraj–Dadri Special train be made a regular service. Furthermore, he has requested that 24 trains—which currently do not stop at Prayagraj Junction, including the Sealdah and Agartala Rajdhani Express trains—be provided with a scheduled halt at the station.

Shri Maurya has also suggested increasing the frequency of the Patna–Vasco da Gama Express to three days a week and enhancing its passenger quota; providing a halt for the Varanasi–New Delhi Vande Bharat Express at Aligarh; and shifting the origin/termination point of the Vibhuti Express from Rambagh to Subedarganj, while also increasing its composition to 24 coaches. Additionally, he has requested a halt for the Saryu Express at Dayalpur station and the extension of the Vande Bharat train services—running from Varanasi to Ranchi and Deoghar—up to Prayagraj Rambagh.
