At the 91st Foundation Training Programme for Provincial Civil Service (PCS) trainee officers—organized by the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Administration and Management Academy, Lucknow—Shri Shiv Sahay Awasthi, Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Rural Road Development Agency, delivered a detailed session on the role of roads in rural development and the effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Shri Awasthi highlighted the ongoing efforts to expand rural infrastructure and integrate villages into the mainstream of development, specifically under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Rural Development, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya. He noted Shri Maurya’s clear vision: ensuring that no village in the state remains deprived of proper road connectivity and that every developmental facility reaches the village via these roads.

Priority on Quality and Modern Technology: Shri Maurya has placed special emphasis on utilizing modern and eco-friendly technologies—such as FDR (Full Depth Reclamation)—in the construction of PMGSY roads. This approach promotes the reuse of existing road materials, thereby conserving natural resources and reducing construction costs.
