Keshav Prasad Maurya has taken serious cognizance of the published report regarding the death of Vandana—the 20-year-old daughter of Smt. Kamlesh Devi—who was crushed to death when their mud house collapsed during the rains in Nidhiyava village, Haringtonganj development block, Ayodhya district. Expressing deep grief over this tragic incident and offering condolences to the bereaved family, he directed the concerned officials to immediately visit the site and ensure all possible assistance to the family.
Acting on the instructions issued over the phone by the Deputy Chief Minister, the Chief Development Officer of Ayodhya district took immediate action and dispatched Block Development Officer (BDO) Shri R.N. Bharti to Nidhiyava village. The BDO visited the site, met the affected family, and provided immediate financial assistance. Officials assured the family that the approval letters and necessary formalities regarding the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme, widow pension, Kisan Samman Nidhi, and other eligibility-based government schemes would be processed and provided promptly.
According to reports, Smt. Kamlesh Devi’s husband, Shri Ram Naresh Pal, had already passed away. In view of this tragic and sudden calamity befalling the family, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya demonstrated humanitarian sensitivity by directing officials to ensure the family faces no hardship and receives the benefits of all government-sanctioned assistance and welfare schemes on a priority basis. He instructed officials from the Rural Development Department to immediately visit the village, meet the family, assess their needs, and provide immediate financial aid in accordance with the rules. Additionally, he directed that the approval of a house under the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme for Smt. Kamlesh Devi be ensured immediately so that the family could be provided with safe and dignified housing.
Shri Maurya also instructed the concerned officials to immediately provide Smt. Kamlesh Devi with the benefits of the widow pension, Kisan Samman Nidhi, and all other public welfare schemes for which she is eligible. Furthermore, directives were issued to provide immediate financial aid to the family and ensure they benefit from all facilities and schemes available to eligible rural residents under the 'double-engine' government. Keshav Prasad Maurya has issued clear directives ensuring there is no negligence at any level in extending the benefits of the state government's public welfare schemes to eligible and needy families. Officials must act with sensitivity and promptness, particularly when assisting families affected by natural disasters or unforeseen accidents. Serving the public and aiding needy families rank among the top priorities of the 'double-engine' government. The government is committed to ensuring that no poor, underprivileged, or needy family in the state is left to face adverse circumstances alone, and that every possible form of government assistance is made available to them.
