Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Leader of the House in the Legislative Council, has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the country and the state—especially the women associated with self-help groups and food processing units—on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Shri Maurya stated that Raksha Bandhan is not merely a festival of tying a *Rakhi* on the wrist; rather, it is a sacred celebration of love, trust, respect, and the pledge to stand by one another through life's joys and sorrows. This thread of *Rakhi* conveys a message of binding the family, society, and the nation together through affection, harmony, and a sense of togetherness, alongside symbolizing the unbreakable bond between a brother and sister.
Shri Maurya noted that women's empowerment has gained new momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Continuous efforts are being made in Uttar Pradesh to make women self-reliant, strengthen self-help groups, and enhance the livelihoods of rural women.
He called upon everyone to foster love, eliminate discrimination, respect women, provide sisters with opportunities for self-reliance, and strengthen social harmony on this Raksha Bandhan. He also urged everyone to reiterate the pledge to build a developed, prosperous, empowered, and self-reliant India.
