Avenues should be opened for products made by women from self-help groups at 5 airports, 100 railway stations, and 100 bus stations, as well as through 543 'Prerna Saral' stores and for over 3,000 products: Keshav Prasad Maurya
Today, at his official residence, Keshav Prasad Maurya reviewed schemes related to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with the Mission Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission; finding the ground-level data unsatisfactory, he issued strict instructions over the phone. Mr. Maurya stated that the department has established 543 'Prerna Saral Stores' at the block level for the distribution and branding of SHG products, and over 3,000 products have been linked to online and offline marketing platforms. He emphasized accelerating the process of taking these products to national and international markets so that women can secure fair prices for their goods and increase their income.
Directing an increase in women's participation in the decentralized energy sector, he stated that to achieve the 'Lakhpati Didi' goal, women should be engaged in solar energy-based activities through extensive outreach at the rural level. He called for promoting solar energy installations by educating industries and entrepreneurs about the benefits of solar power.
While reviewing the 'Drone Didi' scheme, the Deputy Chief Minister noted that 'Drone Sakhis' have been selected for an area covering 1,181,660 hectares across 75 districts, and 114 drones have been provided to them in the first phase. He instructed that special focus be placed on using drone technology to boost farmers' income, reduce cultivation costs, cut down on chemical fertilizer usage, and promote organic farming. He also directed the immediate expansion of the 'Take Home Ration' scheme to all 75 districts; currently, 204 units are operational across 43 districts, employing approximately 4,000 members. Mr. Maurya further instructed that the maximum possible number of SHG women be engaged in sectors such as milk production, beekeeping, and fisheries.
