Uttar Pradesh: Girl Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Pratapgarh; Violence Erupts Between Police and Villagers

In a disturbing incident from Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, a young girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances after she left home for a night shift. The incident occurred in the Durgaganj locality of Raniganj area. She had reportedly gone to work at Maa Multispecialty Clinic and Hospital in Bansi around 8 PM. Her body was discovered around 11 PM the same night.

Family Alleges Rape and Murder

Following the discovery of the body, the girl’s family alleged that she was raped and murdered. The news triggered a protest by the family and villagers, who blocked the road and raised slogans through the night. Tensions escalated as police attempted to take possession of the body for post-mortem. Even 12 hours after the incident, the situation remained volatile.

Violence Erupts Between Police and Locals

Clashes broke out between police personnel and the protesting villagers. When officers attempted to intervene, some villagers reportedly pelted stones at the police team. In response, the police used mild force to control the crowd. Raniganj Circle Officer Vinay Prabhakar Sahni sustained serious head injuries during the violence.

Police Deployment and Investigation

To manage the tense atmosphere, a large police force has been deployed in the area. Authorities are trying to bring the situation under control while preparing to carry out a detailed investigation into the cause of the girl's death. Post-mortem results are awaited to determine the exact nature of the incident.
