Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu, US House Speaker Mike Johnson has come out strongly in support of India, claiming the US will assist in counter terrorism efforts. The attack on April 22, which killed 26 people, led to an increase in Pahalgam’s already fraught regional tensions.

US Pledges Energy and Resource Assistance

His strong remarks noting the need of aid from Trump’s administration showed support for India after the Jammu incident. Trump will provide energy and other resources to India to aid with counter terrorism. Johnson, citing restraint values of both countries, stated that American and Indian cooperatives defend global peace.

India US Strategic Partnership Strengthens

“The threat terrorism poses, and the depth of the relationship between India and America was well understood by the trump administration,” Johnson stated. His remarks showcase the much touted support relations between India and America from Washington are intending to build with New Delhi, especially on counter terrorism and security.

President Trump and Secretary Rubio React

Condolences from world leaders poured in, with US President Donald Trump being part of the first wave. Stating support for PM Modi and Indians dealing with the attack, he stressed the need for careful steps. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio separate from the talks with leaders of the two countries directly promoted calm and dialogue to try and mitigate the escalation.

Post Attack Escalation on India-Pakistan Tensions

Following the Pahalgam attack, India has put on hold several bilateral agreements such as the Indus Water Treaty and movement across the Attari-Wagah border. Both sides have already closed their airspace to each other's airlines and for the past 12 nights there have been reported ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) at night.

Attack Was By TRF And Lashkar-e-Taiba

Indian officials verified that the execution of the attack was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF) which is a known proxy for the Lashkar-e-Taiba operating in Pakistan. Modi ji has promised a tough action which is raising the specter of military curtail from India.

India Steps Up Preparations for War By Conducting Mock Civil Defence Drills

As a precautionary measure, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs put in place a directive to conduct civil defense drills at the national level on the 7th of May which are to be simulation based. Shifts of management for civilians, where they will be tested for their promptness under air raids and missile strikes will now be changed. It would be the largest drill of this nature assisted simulation since the 1971 war with Pakistan.
