A woman, along with an accomplice, is claimed to have stabbed her husband, a merchant Navy officer, to death, chopped his body into 15 pieces, and sealed the pieces inside a drum full of cement in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. In a stunning occurrence, the police suspect her to be a culprit in the case.
Merely 15 days post the Merchant Navy pfficer's disappearance, the police received a foul odor complaint pertaining to an area of Indira Nagar. Following this, reports of a Saurabh Rajput (29), a merchant navy officer, going missing surfaced on March 4. The police discovered his decomposed, mutilated carcass on Tuesday.
Based on doubts, the police have nabbed his spouse Muskan (27), and her boyfriend, Sahil (25) . The officer is assumed to have made a trip from London to India with a motive of celebrating the wife’s birthday, as per the Times of India source.
ASP Ayush Vikram Singh stated, “A certain Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, went missing after returning home on March 4. Based on our suspicion, his wife Muskan and her accomplice Sahil were invited for further interrogations.”
"While interrogating Sahil, he admitted to killing Saurabh on March 4 alongside Muskan. They chopped his body into pieces, sealed it in a cemented drum and disguarded it. The remains have been found and sent for autopsy. Both Muskan and Sahil have been charged and the police complaint has been filed… The legal process is ongoing," SP Singh told ANI.
Both Muskan and Sahil have been charged and are under custody' relevant legal provisions of the case have been registered.
Muskan is said, by the family of the victim, to have tried to avoid detection by posing no suspicion and even going so far as to send out messages using Saurabh's mobile after allegedly murdering the Saurabh. The accused, it is alleged, went to a hill resort after committing the crime, Singh said, News18 reported.
Muskan and Saurabh were married in 2016 but it was against the will of both sides of the family, which led the couple to live in a separate rented flat where they had a 6 year old daughter as per TOI.
