Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The Uttar Pradesh state cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has given its approval to a raft of ten significant proposals aimed at bolstering public services, enhancing regional development, and promoting employment. A key highlight from Tuesday's meeting is the decision to implement a 20% reservation for former Agniveers – individuals recruited under the central government's Agnipath scheme – in future recruitments for the state's police and fire brigade services.

This move to integrate Agniveers into state forces is seen as a significant step to provide them with continued employment opportunities after their military tenure.

Beyond the Agniveer quota, the cabinet also greenlit a new jail manual for Uttar Pradesh. This updated manual is expected to bring reforms to prison administration, inmate facilities, and potentially parole and remission rules, aiming to modernize the state's correctional system.

Further emphasizing regional and urban development, the cabinet approved the establishment of a State Capital Region Development Authority (SCRDA) encompassing Lucknow and surrounding districts. This initiative aims to foster planned and integrated development in the capital region, potentially mirroring the model of the National Capital Region (NCR) around Delhi.

The government also focused on promoting religious tourism and infrastructure by sanctioning the development of pilgrimage sites including Mathura, Vrindavan, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Vindhyachal, and Naimisharanya. Plans include the construction of guest houses in these spiritually significant locations to accommodate pilgrims.

Other notable approvals include new regulations for the establishment and operation of private universities in the state, and an amendment to the industrial investment and employment promotion policy to further attract investment and create jobs. A proposal concerning the Khadi and Village Industries Board was also passed. Additionally, the cabinet gave a nod for the potential construction of an international cricket stadium in Ghaziabad, contingent on land availability, signaling a push for sports infrastructure.

These diverse decisions reflect a multi-pronged approach by the Yogi Adityanath government to address employment, governance, infrastructure, and economic growth across Uttar Pradesh.
